Rosemary Pallister

Rosemary lives at Gladesville, and has experienced successful teaching career over the last twelve years both in the school and studio environment teaching piano, musicianship, and music education. Her studio consists of a wide variety of students ranging from beginners to diploma level. The studio caters for those students with special needs, and encourages adults to develop their musical skills. Rosemary demonstrates a holistic approach to music education, based on sound developmental principles tailored according to each individual. She encourages students to regularly perform, and conducts her own concerts so students develop self esteem, and a greater musical understanding that occurs through sharing a musical experience with others.

She undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Sydney, Sydney Conservatorium of Music and graduated in 1996 with distinction for her masters degree thesis in instrumental teaching under the supervision of Dr Philomena Brennan, formerly Head of Academic Studies. An experienced performer, Rosemary took early studies with Joyce Skelton in Queensland for almost ten years. During this time, Rosemary began accompanying at the age of eleven, under Miss Skelton’s tutelage who provided many performance opportunities for her to develop this skill. She continued accompanying and advanced piano studies with the distinguished pedagogue and conductor Max Olding at the Queensland Conservatorium. Having moved to Sydney in 1990, Rosemary extended her piano studies with Neta Maughan and Joanne Callinan, with the addition of vocal training and Dalcroze eurhythmics in 1996. She has also been indebted to James Muir, who has also provided wonderful mentorship.

Her achievements include numerous major awards at Eisteddfodau throughout Brisbane and Sydney. In addition, she competed at state and national level, namely the ABC Young Performers Awards while studying music education at the Sydney Conservatorium of music as a full time student. In 1992, while still an undergraduate, she gained her L.Mus.A and LTCL diplomas. Rosemary established a reputation for being one of most outstanding performers in her year, having maintained a distinction average for piano performance throughout her undergraduate course, in addition to the final recital at the Sydney Conservatorium. Her performance repertoire covers concertos, and solo works varying widely from Scarlatti to contemporary Australian.

She will travel to Europe in 2006 to extend her knowledge and skills, particularly in advanced development, and attend workshops and international festivals as according to her teaching and research interests.

Ingrid Neubrandt

Ingrid Neubrandt is a piano teacher, accompanist and performer and is accredited by the Music Teachers Association, NSW. She lives on a small property in rural NSW and has a teaching studio in the city of Goulburn. She has been teaching piano for twenty years. Her youngest student is 4 years and the oldest is 80years. Following high school Ingrid went to university and graduated with a degree in bio-medical science. She stopped work when her children were born and when they went to school returned to piano and on the advice of her teacher began teaching.

Throughout her years of teaching Ingrid has continued to study and to attend regular workshops at the Sydney Conservatorium and other places. She also has regular sessions with her mentor, Dr Paul Paviour, who is only too happy to stretch the boundaries of Ingrid’s musical skills. She holds two concerts each year for her students where she performs with other special guests. Ingrid has accompanied many choirs and orchestral works and performs at many concerts throughout the region.

Yu-ju Yvonne Kuan

Yu- Ju (Yvonne) Kuan B. Mus (Performance), M.Teach (Music), Graduate Certificate in Music (Pedagogy)

Yvonne Kuan is a musician specialised in piano performance. She start her own piano studio and private tuition work in a small suburban area at upper north shore of Sydney.

Yvonne enjoys her tuition works, she constantly improve her services by adopting creative teaching method to suit different age group. By implement her unique teaching method, her students has achieved remarkable improvement in piano skills. She is proud of her students have excelled in AMEB and numerous Eisteddfods, including Northern Beaches, Ryde, and Parramatta.

She organised public concert for her students twice a year. She often encourage her students to participate public concert, she believes performing in public will consequently increase students’ self confidence and make students feel comfortable with other people.

Beside her private tuition work, she is also a school teacher recognised by New South Wales Department of Education and Training. She has been work as a music teacher for many schools in eastern suburb and north shore area. She is currently undertake the role of active accompanist as a profession pianist for Eurythmy class in Lorien School (School for Rudolf Steiner education).

Irma Enriquez

Irma Enriquez a Mexican pianist, she obtained her piano degree in 1993 with Aurelio Leon P. She received an Honourable Mention when obtaining her piano degree and for the recording of unpublished Mexican Contemporary Music. In 1994 she obtained the Diploma in Art at the National University of Mexico. In 1996 she completed her Masters of Art-Music at the University of Navarre, Spain. She participated in the international project “Musical Iconography of the Visual Arts in Mexico” in the National Institute of Arts (INBA) from 1997 to 2000. She has taken numerous master classes with internationals experts such as: Edith Picht, Irene Schreier, Elizabeth Howard, France Clidat, Bernard Flavigny, Jorge Demus, Jean Paul Sevilla among others. Her professional career includes various concerts of chamber music, piano and vocal music in Mexico, USA, Canada, Spain, Italy, Indonesia and Australia. 

Irma is a recipient of several awards: in 1993 in Mexico received first prize and medal UNAM "Gustavo Baz Prada" for Cultural Promotion. In 2010 the Australian Hispanic Women Business Network´s Annual Award in recognition of her Outstanding Achievement in the promotion of her Hispanic heritage in Australia. In 2011 she was nominated in Mexico for the National Prize in Arts, for her initiative and intensive promotion of Mexican Concert Music in Australia. In 2015 Irma was finalist at the Vivid Sydney- Creative Achievement Award, as a pioneer musician of Latin American chamber music. In 2018, Irma received an honourable award from the embassies of Mexico and Venezuela at the ANU-ANCLAS. In 2019 she received, from the Mexican government the ’Distinguished Mexican Recognition’ for her impeccable trajectory abroad. 

Enriquez is a member of the Music Teachers Association of NSW since 2001 and was previously an Associate professor of ANU-ANCLAS. Cofounder in 2008 of Duo Deconet and since 2018 as the artistic director and founder of MIA-Music from Ibero America in Australia (www.iberoamericanmusic.com.au). She has been formally included in four books:  A Chronological History of Australian Composers and musicians by S. Pleskun; The Swallows: women’s stories, an Anthology by Hispanic Women writers 2012; Identity and Memory- 20 Stories of Latin American Women, 2014 by S. Alfaro and 10 years STANSW by Ladis Sosa, 2018. Irma has participated in Hispanic and Australian radio interviews, performing with voice and music on Spanish radio, ABC classic, Radio Costa Rica and Villahermosa -Mexico; in 2017 she participated in the documentary: ‘Women you Inspired me’ for SBS Spanish. Irma has been guest speaker in conferences of ‘Music for children with special needs’ for the STANSW and ‘Women day’ for the Latin American community. She appears in several articles, including Latin Stories Australia and on TV Canal 22-Noticias 22 Diaspora cultural Mexico, Tabaco Tv, Magazine Mexicana de Arte. In 2020 she has appeared in Diplomado Opera Mexico, SRE interviews Australia, Costa Rica, Spain and Mexico. She was part of the jury for the 16th International Piano Contest Villahermosa -Mexico online.

Roshinee Weerakkody

Roshinee Weerakkody is a Sydney based qualified piano teacher, with L.T.C.L. Solo Piano teaching and A.T.C.L. in Piano forte Teaching. She is a fully accredited teacher and Member of the Music Teachers' Association of New South Wales. Roshinee has more than 20 years of teaching experience with 10 years of Studio Teaching experience in Sydney, Australia; and more than 10 years of Studio, High school and Primary school teaching overseas;

Currently she runs an independent piano teaching studio where she teaches a variety of students from very young beginners through to mature aged students. She is inspired to make a difference through music in every student’s life. Her belief in every student's potential inspires her to motivate them to excel to achieve their personal best. She actively seeks to stay current and further her professional development as a teacher, by regularly attending Music Teachers' Association events as well as music conferences and workshops.

She considers herself very organized, as it is vital in order to manage a private business, preparing lessons, organizing music appreciation workshops, on top of being a mother. She believes students benefit immensely from a balance of off bench learning through games, music appreciation, discussions as well as standard lessons; and she implements this in her teaching. As a studio piano teacher she endeavours to develop independent learning skills in her students and believes in providing a holistic musical and learning experience in an enjoyable environment.

 Through the past two decades of teaching she has touched many lives with an honest and genuine approach in teaching, resulting in building well balanced, creative, students who have excelled in both piano as well as theory. Roshinee, strives to keep her students motivated by teaching them repertoire of different styles and genres, and trains students for both Trinity and AMEB exams in piano, theory and musicianship.
